Adrian Alexander

Adrian Alexander of New York was born in 1946 in Bucharest, Romania, and moved to the United States in 1964, shortly after finishing high school. He holds both U.S. and Italian citizenship. Just six months after his arrival, he faced the hardship of his father's passing, which left him responsible for supporting both himself and his mother. Despite these challenges, he attended NYU Engineering School, graduating in 1970 with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and then completed his MBA at Harvard Business School in 1972. This period marked a time of significant personal growth and determination for him. He excelled academically while providing for his family in their new environment. His educational achievements laid a solid foundation for his subsequent professional success. After graduation, he entered the world of investment banking, starting his career at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was recruited directly from Harvard. He worked there for three years before moving to Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb as the VP of Mergers and Acquisitions, holding this position until 1978. His career then took an international turn when he joined Egon Zehnder, an executive search firm in Milan, Italy, where he worked until 1983, recruiting executives for multinational companies. Returning to the U.S. in 1978, he pursued various entrepreneurial ventures, including acquiring and revitalizing Minneapolis Sport, a franchise of ailing sporting goods stores, which he successfully sold to over 50 franchisees. His efforts garnered positive publicity and demonstrated his ability to turn struggling businesses around. From 1987 to 1990, he served as Vice President of Acquisitions at Polly Peck International, Plc, where he significantly expanded the company’s presence in the U.S. by acquiring several companies in the fresh fruit and vegetables sector, including the significant acquisition of Del Monte Fresh Fruit Company for $875 million. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, his career diversified further. In 1996, he founded the Phoenix Real Estate Fund, acquiring and managing over 200 properties in New York City, which he later sold in 1999. In 2000, he established Technology Seed Capital, a venture fund focused on early-stage technology investments. In the mid-2000s, he ventured into digital platforms by becoming a partner in Limores.net, an innovative online platform for ground transportation, a precursor to Uber and Lyft. Later, he took over and revitalized an imaging center in Astoria, New York, which he sold in 2014. In 2010, he formed Health Settlement, LLC, providing financial solutions for personal injury cases. On the personal side, Adrian Alexander of New York enjoys the intellectual challenges of chess and poker, reflecting the strategic thinking required in his professional life. He celebrates his 29th wedding anniversary with his wife Susi in July 2025 and takes pride in his children's accomplishments. His story is a testament to overcoming adversity and achieving success through resilience, strategic planning, and adaptability.
